Debbie Ellinghaus, Managing Director at Olney Theatre Center for the Arts, has worked in arts and education for more than twenty years. Starting out as a performer, she soon turned to administration and held development positions at Jean Cocteau Repertory Theatre, the Guggenheim Museum, Yale Repertory Theatre/Yale School of Drama, and the University of Maryland, College of Arts and Humanities, before coming to Olney Theatre Center in 2014 as Managing Director. 

At Olney Theatre, she serves as Co-CEO of the $7.5M professional non-profit regional theater and is responsible for development, marketing, administration and finance. Debbie also serves as the liaison to the Board of Directors, of which she is an ex- officio member. At both UMD and Yale, Debbie played a significant role in university-wide campaigns, raising transformational gifts to advance arts education, theater training, performance and new work, including the establishment of the Binger Center for New Theatre at Yale Rep. 

Since 2013, Debbie has served as Chair of the Downtown Columbia Arts and Culture Commission. She is a director on the boards of Medstar Montgomery Medical Center and the Olney Chamber of Commerce, and serves as a panelist for the Maryland State Arts Council. In 2017, she was elected an officer of the Philadelphia Regional Arts Consortium. Born in Washington, DC, and raised in Columbia, MD, she now resides in Fulton, MD, with her husband, two kids and dog.
