An historic blizzard struck the eastern United States over the weekend, and Columbia was right in the middle of it.
But only 36 hours after the snow stopped, work on Merriweather's renovations resumed. Ringed with massive piles of snow and sticky, thick mud underfoot, the construction site was a flurry of activity earlier this week, as work continued on the stage house roof and the walls for the back of house building.
Over the next couple weeks, both the stage house and the back of house should begin to take on more recognizable forms.
While it may be hard to imagine now, the same lawn that is currently dormant under two feet of snow will in just a few months host thousands of happy concertgoers. Let's all hope it's a little warmer then.
